History

About Uncork Barrington

Uncork Barrington was initiated by the Barrington Village Association (BVA) and has grown in success through the years bringing hundreds of people to enjoy the downtown Barrington area. The event is now being managed by the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce. Uncork Barrington is a charitable event, with a large portion of its profits going to local nonprofit organizations.

At Uncork Barrington, we strive to create a fun experience in a festive outdoor venue. Housed in a white tent Pavilion, Uncork Barrington takes place amidst beautiful plants and colorful decorations, with live music playing and the sun setting in the background. Tickets are available online, in local stores, or at the gate.  General admission tickets are $40 in advance or $50 day of the event. A limited quantity of VIP tickets are available for $90 each to offer a high-end tasting experience.  This ticket can only be purchased online.  We are also offering a designated driver ticket for $25.00.  This guest will receive a bottle of water and a separate designated wristband.

At the gate, patrons may purchase tickets or claim tickets purchased in advance through this website. All guests will then be required to show proof that they are at least 21 years old, at which time they will receive a wristband to gain them admission to the Uncork venue. Guests may leave the venue to smoke and return by displaying their wristband.

Upon entry, guests will be provided with a souvenir wine-tasting glass and a “passport” to guide them through the tasting experience. Each guest will be afforded the opportunity to choose from 50 wines and spirits samples from various vendors. The passport will help guests track the samples they’ve enjoyed, and make notes about them. Guests can also enjoy samples of flavorful foods served by local restaurants and caterers.
