About Uncork Barrington

Uncork Barrington was initiated by the Barrington Village Association (BVA) and has grown in success through the years bringing hundreds of people to enjoy the downtown Barrington area. This year, the event is being managed by the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce along with the Barrington Area Council on Aging (BACOA), and the BVA as its hosting partners. Uncork Barrington is a charitable event, with a large portion of its profits going to local nonprofit organizations such as Barrington United Way, CareerPlace, Barrington Area Council on Aging, Barrington Youth and Family Services and many more.

At Uncork Barrington, we strive to create a fun-filled and educational experience in an elegant venue. Housed in a white tent Pavilion, Uncork Barrington takes place amidst beautiful plants and colorful decorations, with live music playing and the sun setting in the background. Tickets are available online, in local stores, or at the gate.  General admission tickets are $40 in advance or $50 day of the event. A limited quantity of VIP tickets are available that promises to increase the experience of our select few.  This ticket can only be purchased online.  We are also offering a designated driver ticket for $25.00.  This guest will receive a bottle of water and a separate designated wristband. At the gate, patrons may purchase tickets or claim tickets purchased in advance through this website. All guests will then be required to show proof that they are at least 21 years old, at which time they will receive a wristband to gain them admission to the Uncork venue. Guests may leave the venue to smoke and return by displaying their wristband.

Upon entry, guests will be provided with a souvenir glass to use during tasting and a “passport” to guide them through the tasting experience. Each guest will be afforded the opportunity to taste a total of 50 wines from various wine vendors. Guests will also receive tastings of flavorful foods served by local restaurants and caterers, designed to pair well with wines. Food for purchase will also be available. The passport will help wine enthusiasts track the samples they’ve enjoyed, and to make notes about them. The passport will also reflect the foods tasted and highlight our event sponsors.   A select handful of wines featured at Uncork will be available for purchase by the glass.  Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for purchase.

Ordering Wines & Special Event Prices

During and at the close of Uncork Barrington, Uncork guests may order bottles or cases of the featured wines direct from the wine vendors, for pick up at their locations.
